FELISHA LEDESMA
FADING FATHER FROM ME
Felisha Ledesma returns to Ecstatic Recordings with a powerful introspective release, "Fading farther from me" the first since undergoing surgery for cancer treatment. Eroded memories are strung together to form a sonic remembrance, a reflection of constant change not only of body but self.
Events are retold in a non-linear fashion through field recordings, synthesized sound and Ledesma's own voice enveloped in washes of distortion and cavernous space. A sonic palette that paints an abstract yet vivid picture of the loss of a past self, embracing change and moving on.
"Fading farther from me" heals through sound; everyday rhythms, busy morning train routes, metallic sharpness in the air, echoes in the halls of Charité – everything is given a voice and a story, each part unraveling into the next as time evaporates.
